Investigation of Donald Street Carpark

Izzat Consulting Engineers undertook a condition assessment and structural analysis of a multi-storey concrete carpark experiencing cracking to the mod-formed concrete decks.

Our involvement was to inspect the condition of the structure, undertake a detailed survey mapping cracks, co-ordination of concrete testing and analysis, and a finite element structural analysis of the carpark to determine structural adequacy. The structural model highlighted highly stressed areas, which matched crack patterns and crack locations as mapped on site.

A detailed report was produced highlighting likely causes of cracking, slab capacities and providing recommendations for future maintenance works.
