Fishermans Bay Residence

Izzat was engaged to carry out structural engineering design for proposed alterations and additions to this residence located in Fishermans Bay, Port Stephens. An extra level was added to the existing house to allow the grandparents to live above their family.

The extra level was developed as its own contained dwelling with amazing views over Stockton Bight towards Newcastle. This required investigations and strengthening of the existing structure below as well as the design of the new parts of the building.

The residence is situated on the oceanfront of Fishermans Bay, and therefore site specific wind load analysis was conducted to ensure structural engineering design supported the environmental requirements suitable for the site. Furthermore site specific durability requirements were also needed.

The project was successfully completed for the now happy one big family!
